Synopsis:
Sachiyo, a Japanese singer songwriter born in Japan and raised in Singapore will be holding her much-awaited live concert to commemorate the 25th anniversary of her music career. This concert will showcase her heartfelt original compositions featuring ‘Tsubasa (Wings)’ – ‘Beyond The Borders’ – ‘New Beginning’, a trilogy of songs of hope that she wrote during the pandemic and “Furusato”, her Japanese version of Dick Lee’s ‘Home’ as well as to sing popular Japanese & Singapore songs with her unique interpretation. Sachiyo, a talented Singapore-raised Japanese artiste has established herself as a unique singer-songwriter blending both Singapore and Japan elements in her songs based on her life experience in two countries. Mesmerising the audience last year with her gentle yet powerful vocals at her 20th anniversary concert, this June, Sachiyo will be sharing her life story through her original compositions in this concert. Sachiyo’s songs were written based on her life encounters. The most significant impact was the 2011 Japan Disaster. She was deeply moved by the tragedy and led her to pen ‘A Song of Life’ to encourage victims to move on. The song is about appreciating precious life and today, this song became influential to all who are facing the hardships and trying to overcome obstacles. Singapore-Japan (SG-JP) Music Mix 2016 is a unique performance that
creatively mixes the music of 5 artistes and 7 musicians from Singapore
and Japan. The concert will feature an extraordinary line-up of top
Japanese artistes who exemplify traditional yet contemporary elements in
their music,and established Singaporean artistes who come from diverse
cultural backgrounds.They include the legendary Hideki Togi, the Tokyo-born,
Singapore-raised Sachiyo – as well as Singaporean artistes Dick Lee,
Shabir and Olivia Ong with a mixed-culture band consisting of 7 top
Singaporean musicians.
The concert is a special collaboration comprising newly arranged Singapore
songs that are blended with Japanese traditional music and instruments
as well as newly arranged Japanese songs that are blended with Singapore
modern multicultural music. SG-JP Music Mix 2016 is a special edition

Sachiyo, a Singapore-raised Japanese singer-songwriter
is known for her soothing voice and touching compositions.
She came to Singapore at the age of four after her
parents took on jobs here and studied at the Singapore
Japanese School.At the age of five, she became the first and only
Japanese model to be featured in a Singapore Airlines’
advertising campaign.Sachiyo made her debut as a professional singer in 1997
and went on to perform extensively in both Singapore
and Japan.
A versatile performer, she sings in four languages
- English, Mandarin, Malay and Japanese – creating
and performing a diverse range of music such as Jazz,
Pop and Ethnic genres from traditional to modern.Sachiyo has released three albums
“Sachiyo Sings Singapore” (2003),
“Rojak” (2006) and “My Life, My Songs” (2011).In 2017, Sachiyo celebrated 20 years of her music
career with a 20th anniversary concert in Singapore
and Japan.Besides singing performances, Sachiyo bridges
Singapore and Japan cultures as a ‘J-SG musical
ambassador’ in numerous cultural exchange events

20年間の活動の中で、多くの日星文化交流事業に歌手として出演し、自身でもイベントをプロデュースする。幼少の頃には、シンガポール航空初の日本人キャンペーンガール等子供モデルとしても活躍。多民族の国で培われた独特な感性で４ヶ国語(英、中、マレー、日)で歌い、多種多様なジャンルの音楽を創り歌う。
これまでに “Sachiyo Sings Singapore”, “Rojak”,“My Life, My Songs” 3枚のアルバムをリリース。2009年、2012年、2度に渡り、在シンガポール日本国大使館より指名され、「天皇誕生日祝賀レセプション」において
シンガポール、日本、両国の国歌を独唱。2010年NDPシンガポール独立記念式典、シンガポール音楽賞COMPASS AWARDSに初の日本人シンガーとしてゲスト出演。2011年東日本大震災発生以後、“Songs from Singapore to Tohoku”というプロジェクト名で、シンガポールのトップミュージシャンと共に、2011年より毎年、東北被災地で復興支援コンサートを開催している。
2016年は、日本とシンガポールを代表するアーティストのコラボレーションによるSJ50(日・シンガポール外交関係樹立50周年)記念コンサートをVictoria Concert Hallで開催、エグゼクティブプロデューサーを務め、歌手としても出演。
2017年には、プロデビュー20周年を迎え、記念コンサート“Sachiyo – The Journey Concert”をシンガポールと東京にて開催、大好評を博した。
